Who and Why?
A boudoir session isn’t just sexy photos to give your significant other. A boudoir session is about YOU and for YOU. It’s to embrace every inch of your skin and curve on your body. Embrace the journey that your body has given you. Every single person in this world is unique and different, no two bodies are the same. Nor should they be, how boring would that be?! We all are beautiful, give me any woman and I will find the beauty and the sexy in her. Book a boudoir session because you’re a bad ass boss babe and you know it and are proud or maybe you book a boudoir session because you want to find that inner goddess. No matter what age you are RIGHT now, you are only getting older and older. There is always an excuse to tell your self you’re not ready. Trust me, I will guide you with the right posing and lighting and will show you how freaking gorgeous you are.
What to Wear?
First off, you don’t need sexy lingerie to be sexy. Your birthday suit is a great way to finish a session if you’re up for it! A sexy off the shoulder sweater with some cozy knee/thigh high socks. A sexy sheer feminine dress that you slowly undress. It’s all about the art of tease. With that, I love straps. Strappy everything! A body suit is major flattering on pretty much every figure! I have yet to see someone in a body suit and not love it. They also have straps so we can let that strap fall off the shoulder or give a little tug on it.
Ditch the thongs and the padding in bras when it comes to two piece sets. Thongs are great in real life but in photos more is less. Some cheeky underwear translate much better in photos. Something with a little more fabric to show off that booty and highlight it. Padded bras, again great in real life but in camera, a sheer, lacy or strappy bra will be so much sexier.
I love neutrals as far as colors go. Black, white, pale pink, beige to blend in with your skin color, grey… Soft, romantic and classic.
Avoid slips and baby dolls. While they’re super cute they don’t translate will on camera. Find pieces that hug your curves, accentuate your assets and maybe hide what you don’t love.
Drink lots of water in the weeks leading up to your shoot. Water will hydrate your skin and give you that natural beautiful glow so many of us love. You’r body and your skin will thank you for staying hydrated!
Skip the Tan
While I am an advocate for spray tanning over a sun or booth tans skip the tanning for your session. Your natural skin will photograph so much more beautiful then a faux tan which more then likely will translate to orange in photos. If you know you’re planning to have a boudoir session sometime in the summer or after a vacation make sure you lather up with the SPF when you’re outside to avoid unwanted tan lines.
Please, please, please eat before your session. Not eating that morning is not going to make you more skinny the day of your session. I repeat, not eating before your session will not make you more skinny. It will however leave you feeling, tired, drained and week and dare I say hangry? Many of the boudoir poses are more challenging and require you to hold the pose so I can work the angles. If you are running on an empty stomach you won’t be able to hold them and may start to feel light headed and dizzy. It’s like trying to do a strenuous work out or take along hike on an empty stomach.
Rest assure that once you have booked I send you all of these tips and more on how to prepare for your session. Most importantly though, come ready to love your self and trust me to do my job. You’ve hired me to make you look your best and that is what I intend to do!

Thank you so much for visiting my blog! As a photographer who photographs a variety of things I can be with you through all of life’s special moments. I believe this really helps me get to know clients and create a lasting relationship. I am there from your wedding day as your wedding photographer, to the hospital when you create your first bundle of joy for a fresh 48 session or a newborn session. Then year after year I can create lasting art to share your families memories and growth through family photos. Bring me on your life journey, I would love to capture all of your moments. I am a newborn photographer, family photographer, wedding photographer, boudoir photographer, milestones photographer, telling lifes stories through my lense.
I love working with natural light, often backlighting my images wrapping you in warm golden sunlight. For this reason we will always shoot just before sunset. I try to keep my sessions fun and relaxed and as un-posed as possible. I enjoy capturing couples and families interacting with each other, creating lasting moments. After all, its about YOU guys and not my camera. I will make sure to take a couple classic style portraits as well but be ready to cuddle, play, dance, and interact with each other!
